1. HVBA is in no way to be held responsible for the actions of other anglers or members. HVBA is not responsible for any damage to vehicles,boats,trailers,or other property left at the boat ramp.

2. All Georgia fishing and boating regulations should be followed at all times. No exceptions

3. In most cases, if your boat is legal for the lake, you are legal to fish in the HVBA. There are exceptions to the rule in some circumstances to level the playing field and for safety reasons

4. All lake rules must be obeyed at all times. If “electric only” no gas motors/  tanks permitted.

5. All lake or park entry fees are the responsibility of the angler (s) participating in the event. These fees are above and beyond tournament fees and are to be paid to lake or park staff

6. All boats must be equipped with a live well capable of holding at least 5 fish. Aerated coolers are permitted

7. All live wells and coolers will be checked prior to blast off

8. All teams must check in and out at stated times to compete in tournaments. Any boat late for weigh in will be disqualified from the tournament. Boat must be touching the shoreline at time of weigh in.

9. Boats may not be removed from the water prior to weigh in if you have fish to weigh in

10. There is a $40 yearly membership fee to be paid by all HVBA members. $10 goes towards the point Champions .  This fee is due at the time of  the angler's first tournament. All membership money goes towards year end classic. After 2 memberships are paid for a team a substitute may be used for the captain or co angler as long as one original member is present. If a captain pays a team membership with no designated partner, the partner can be substituted during a season. If you need a partner for the classic the angler of choice must have fished at least 1 prior tournament.

11. A team must fish at least 6 tournaments throughout  the season to be eligible to fish the classic

12. The top 6 fish off- The top 6 teams will fish in the HVBA classic. There will be an optional big fish pot for the classic .$20 per boat, this must be paid in full no split entry

13. All tournaments are 8 hours in duration before the break and 6 hours after the break

14. No alcoholic beverages or drugs may be consumed during tournament hours

15. Members of HVBA will not leave trash or debris at any lakes fished. Any member found in intentional violation will be disqualified for that tournament. All entry fees, weight and participation points will be forfeited.

16. Competitors will be responsible for checking the website for times and lakes to be fished.

17. Tournament entry fees are $30 per angler. Under 16 fishes for free $5 of will be placed in the big fish pot. 

18. Winner of ‘’ Big fish pot ‘’will be awarded 100% of the monies entered for that week’s tournament

19. Tournaments will be held rain or shine. In the event there is severe weather at the time of blast off a maximum delay of one hour will apply. If after one hour weather is still uncertain, a vote will be taken by members, majority rules. If the tournament is canceled due to weather, all monies paid will rollover to the next tournament. All teams that are PAID IN FULL will be automatically awarded 30 points for participation for the canceled tournament. Any team absent from a canceled tournament that fishes the proceeding tournament will pay double tournament fees if they did not fish the tournament that was rolled over. Team members are responsible for knowledge of canceled events.

20. All tournament fees shall be paid to the official 15 minutes prior to posted blast off time. There are no late starts after blast off time, any money paid will be forfeited for that tournament.

21. In case a team splits the points remain with the captain [ to be determined at time of paid membership ]of the team unless captain says otherwise

22. Short fish penalties apply. Short fish weight will be deducted off big fish weight. Anglers must declare short fish BEFORE fish are placed in the basket, while still in bag. If no declaration is made prior to being put in the weight basket and then disputed by official or other anglers and found short penalties will apply.

23. There is a dead fish of .50 lbs. off total weight. If someone has a big fish and it's dead, .50lbs. will still be deducted off that.

24. There is a 5 fish limit per boat, per tournament. Each fish must be at least 12’’ long or Lake Limit. Questionable fish will be measured with Golden Rule mouth closed and tail swiped There will be no more than 6 fish in the live well at any given time. All culling must be done before banking for the weigh in. Only 5 fish are allowed to be brought to the scales.

26. The same set of scales will be used at each tournament. Fish will be weighed to the hundredth of an ounce

27. No trolling allowed at any time during tournament

28. Only one line per angler is allowed in the water at any time

29. Artificial baits ONLY. No live bait or once live bait will be permitted

30. No fish caught will be held on a stringer during a tournament

31. A 100 foot distance rule to other event opponents. If two boats are fishing in the same 100 foot area and no violation is noted, other event participants are permitted to fish the location without violation. Participants found in violation will be disqualified from that tournament. All entry fees, weight and points will be forfeited. All violations must be reported as soon as possible when anglers report to weigh in

32. The payout schedule will be based on the number of anglers in that event. Payouts will be rounded to the nearest  $5

33. All membership fees minus yearly club cost will go towards the top classic.

34. No "tie breakers" will occur for overall event weights. All place money will be divided accordingly.

35. Tie Breakers" for overall point positions will be determined by overall weight caught YTD.

36. All disputes will be decided by the club president and that ruling will be final.

37. In the event of severe cold weather a tournament may be rescheduled or canceled. This will be the club presidents call a minimum of 2 days ahead of time.
